WASHINGTON — House Republicans on Tuesday blocked another attempt by Democrats to obtain President Donald Trump's tax returns from the IRS.

House Democrats tried for a third time to use a procedural vote to pry loose Trump's returns. Republicans thwarted the effort, 228-190, on a mostly party-line vote.

The vote happened as the House Ways and Means Committee debated a similar motion to get Trump's tax returns. That effort was expected to fail as well.

3. I wonder

Does anyone in their right mind think tax reform will be passed without a look at Trump taxes to see how it personally benefits him? There are some pretty dumb people around if they think this won't be a huge issue in the future.
