Former Trump campaign adviser: Any info given to Russian spies 'immaterial'

Source: The Hill

Carter Page, a former adviser to Donald Trump's presidential campaign, said Tuesday any information he gave Russian spies in an encounter several years ago was "immaterial."

“Any information I could give is, again, immaterial and all public information,” he told ABC News during an interview Tuesday at a New York energy conference.

The comments come after a report Monday that Page met a Russian intelligence operative three years before the 2016 race and passed him documents.

He reportedly met with Victor Podobnyy, a Russian intelligence official whom the U.S. government later charged with acting as an unregistered agent for a foreign government.

We have the right to know what was said, what was given to the Russians, what the Russians did for who.

That's a pretty sketchy defense, leading to the questions why, and for whose benefit?

They start small with a friendly or business relationship. I'm sure they try to see if the target is willing to turn over info/documents. If so, they'll start asking to see more sensitive info and so on.

He's never was holding any valuable intel that we know about. He's there to bring deal terms, a go between, a bag man, not an intel leaker. He's guilty of collusion with russian intel people, not passing russian intel people our classified secrets.
