MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker has cancelled his annual Easter Egg Hunt because of concerns about safety while authorities search for a fugitive who is suspected of robbing a gun store in southern Wisconsin and sending an anti-government manifesto to the White House.

Dozens of police have been searching for Joseph Jakubowski since the gun store was robbed in Janesville, about 60 miles southwest of Milwaukee.

A statement from Walker and first lady Tonette Walker says the couple is "sad to miss one of our favorite events."

The hunt had been scheduled for Saturday.

This guy stole guns and ammo. However, based on the gunshop owners report, the ammo and the guns were not a match. So the worst case scenario is that he is prepared to shoot with a 22 caliber weapon. He will not outgun the people hunting for him.

and not having any luck searching the tubes for info my tin foil hat conclusion is that he already had bought a crap load of Russian surplus 7.62×39mm and targeted AKs in the theft. The theft of a 22 caliber rifle would have been a wilderness survival weapon and his 22 caliber ammo choice would give some insight to his gooberness. A cheap but reliable Ruger 10/22 rifle needs premium ammo like CCI match grade ammo that costs the same for 100 rounds vs 500 rounds of the cheap stuff in order to fire more than 20 rounds without jamming. If someone has the police report handy I'd appreciate it if they would reply with it.
