Dem Lawmakers Respond To Mulvaney's O'Care, Border Wall Proposal: No Way!

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published APRIL 22, 2017, 11:03 AM EDT

Democratic members of Congress shot down White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney's proposal on Friday to fund Obamacare subsidies to insurers in exchange for funding to build President Donald Trump's proposed border wall.

"We'd offer them $1 of CSR payments for $1 of wall payments. Right now that's the offer that we've given to our Democratic colleagues," Mulvaney said at a Bloomberg Live event on Friday as quoted by the Hill, referring to cost-sharing reduction payments.

A spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in a statement Friday called the proposal a "gambit to hold hostage health care for millions of Americans" and "a complete non-starter."

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) on Friday called Trump's proposed wall "a stupid use of money" and pledged to block "any funding for it." Sen. Ted Lieu (D-CA) tweeted that he would only vote to fund Trump's "stupid" proposed wall "if Russia pays for it."

We know they will pay for it. They will be happy to pay for it. In advance. We were assured again and again it would be a piece of cake. What could possibly run awry? We just need to see it unravel (I mean HAPPEN) as promised.

However, by some very remote possibility that the wall check does not arrive as anticipated, then Mulvaney (or Trump via Tweet-storm) can go tell Mexico what it will cost them dollar for dollar in lost health care for their citizens. After all, they were supposed to pay by sheer force of something or another, and there must be consequences for blowing off Bulid-a-Wall Plan "A ". One Vincente Fox might have an interesting take on this!

is a crackpot far-right koch-bot nutjob who shouldn't be anywhere near government, let alone budgetary matters.

His "proposals" are just as crazy as he is, and warrant the same amount of consideration--none.

Any of the good, law-abiding hard-working, able-bodied ones.

(nudge nudge wink wink)

And then 'costs' don't you know ... will 'force' the GOP/Trumpanzee brigade to come up with the BRILLIANT idea of making these scofflaws they've rounded up 'pay for their upkeep' ... after all, they're CRIMINALS, ya know?

And that'll be 'paid for' by forcing them to work the jobs they had before, but this time for $10/day instead of an hour ... and the GOP-aligned Corps will REVEL in their glorious, third-world-like profits ...

And the dumbfuck knuckle-dragging Pro-Drumpf types, who's jobs are even MORE GONE than they were before, thanks to this way-under-priced competition ... will clap and bark in approval like the Circus Seals they are ... celebrating how 'we' are really 'sticking it to' these 'evil immigrant interlopers' ... because they're THAT friggin' hateful ... and that dumb.

Don't be surprised when it turns out that that's what this 'immigrant roundup' ... is really about, in the end. Slave Labor & Chain Gangs ... And private corps 'housing' them, and private corps 'supervising them' when they're on the job. Of course, said private corps will then donate generously to GOP CongressCritters ... I think you can bank on it.
