Pence: 'I Hope' GOP Will Move Forward On Obamacare Repeal By End Of Year

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published APRIL 30, 2017 1:41 PM

Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday said that he “hopes” Congress will have a health care bill on President Donald Trump’s desk by the end of the year, a far cry from Republicans’ original push to pass legislation within his now-elapsed first 100 days.

“We’re hopeful there’ll be action in the House of Representatives soon,” Pence said in an interview on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” “I think health care reform, repealing and replacing Obamacare, is just around the corner.”

“How do you pass this thing?” Chuck Todd asked. “First, before I get to that, let’s begin with the fact that Obamacare has failed,” Pence deflected. “I mean, it literally is collapsing all across the country.”

“That is a very debatable point, Mr. Vice President,” Todd replied.

Yet, another I've-got-mine-so-there "moral Christian", going out of his way to make life miserable for millions less fortunate, while transferring billion$ to those who need it least. Pence and others like him might eventually have a bit of a problem getting their proverbial camels through the eye of that needle.

is a born-again Christian raised as a Catholic?

The only one I know of that fits this description is a greedy awhole greedy tRump supporter that has no idea what any form of religion is yet claims to be "born again" what the hell ever that means.

Best I can tell it = HYPOCRITE!!!

Once someone persuades themselves that they are "moral and God-fearing", the facade goes up and the door is opened, enabling actions and deeds that real or imagined deities from most any professed religion would take exception to. Deeds indeed matter, but words are dirt cheap.

They twist their supposed religious beliefs so that it appears (to them) to say that hate is a family value.

repubs will be rotting there. It is immoral that the repubs have & still are jerking people around who are on ObamaCare & Medicaid expansion. Yes the rest of us will lose benefits too, but we will still have health insurance. I find it disgusting. How can they claim to be the Christian party with such hateful views? They clearly do not follow the Prince of Peace. They clearly do not follow the Sermon on the Mount. I am well above my frustration level. My country makes me so sad now.

the ACA should be repealed, need to be questioned repeatedly about exactly why they think it's a good (Christian?) thing to toss some 24 million people out of the plan, and why it's good that premiums and copays will skyrocket, that pre-existing conditions will no longer be covered. And so on. And they cannot be allowed to respond with platitudes, but must be held to specifics. And then, each and every one of them must be challenged to get off their protected plan and go into the open market.

Oh, and for all those who think that the minimum wage shouldn't be raised, or is already too high: Live on minimum wage for two years.

I actually have lived on minimum wage, but that was back in the distant past when the buying power of that minimum wage was significantly more than it is now. And even then, I could survive, and that was all. I could pay rent, buy food and clothing. I couldn't save anything. And I lived alone, so I wasn't trying to support a child or two. And this is also accounting for the fact that we expect to have more material things in our lives now: cell phones and computers are the two biggies. And I'm NOT saying that poor people should necessarily do without. I'm simply pointing out that what constitutes a basic life is very different these days from what it was 50 years ago.

Oh, and for all who complain about the cost of health care, who say that back in the day it didn't cost as much, well back in the day people died from things that are treatable now. The cost of health care is so high mainly because there is a lot more of it out there. Yes, the insurance companies skim a lot from the top. And yes, it may be that doctors are overpaid. But the bottom line is that all the technology and treatments and medications available are going to cost a whole lot more, even without any of the other stuff.
