Trump Nixes Plan to Visit FBI Headquarters After Comey Firing: Officials
Source: NBC News
President Donald Trump's plan to visit the FBI in an attempt to boost morale has been scrapped, according to administration officials.
After his controversial firing of FBI Director James Comey, Trump was told it was not likely he would be warmly welcomed.
FBI agents told NBC News that while many of them voted for Trump, after he unceremoniously fired a very popular director few were ready to greet the president at the bureau with open arms.

The news media is continually attacked, but like little puppies, they keep coming back. It's like Animal House...."Thank you sir, may I have another?"
I wish they would just lay it on the line, and call these people what they are. LIARS & FRAUDS. Kelly Ann is barely qualified to be an office manager, let alone a member of the White House team. She's truly an utter idiot and mouthpiece, who it's an embarrassment to have representing our government in any form.
In addition to doing eye rolls, it's time to call them on their BS, and continue to do it EVERY SINGLE TIME they come on these shows to spew their "talking point Garbage."

(3,194 posts)The press is so concerned with being kept out of the loop, that they play nice far too often. Their whole response to the "fake news" think is sad. Lay it on the line, and stand up for yourselves and the American people....you know, YOUR VIEWERS.
Make it so not a single repub wants to appear anywhere except Fox. Make the WH press conference an all out attack, instead of friendly questions, which elicit either talking point responses, or "no comments."

With the reckless, fishy sacking of James Comey, President Trumps domestic behavior has become more than an embarrassment its an international liability.

First, it incurs an opportunity cost of much that might otherwise be accomplished worthwhile policy initiatives undertaken, explaining decisions about the war in Afghanistan, or building support for the economic analysis undergirding the presidents budget. Our national attention will continue to be consumed by bonfires of the presidents vanity. Its sucking the air out of so many important issues we should be carefully considering, like how to knit together our North Korea policy with the dovish bent of the newly elected president of South Korea, or whether sending additional forces to Afghanistan are a continuation of existing strategy or harbinger of a new direction in that 16-year war.
.snip
Second, it makes more difficult support from democratic allies for the Presidents initiatives. President Trumps behavior looks more like autocratic Turkey or Russia than it does the Netherlands or Estonia; that drives up the domestic cost to allied governments for agreeing to our requests. Chancellor Angela Merkels invitation to former President Barack Obama to speak at the Brandenburg Gate just before the NATO summit (at which Trump will be attending) is a taste of things to come. It will make European and North American leaders, our closest friends and steadiest partners, hesitate to associate themselves with the new president of the United States. Germanys Merkel and new French President Emmanuel Macron are already being championed as the new leaders of the free world; our president will need their support more than they will need his.
