President Trump's counterterrorism adviser denounced media reports on Saturday about ongoing investigations into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia as "propaganda."
"Its not news, its not reporting, its just propaganda," Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka said on Fox News' "Hannity." "We have a mission that we had approved by the American people, and were executing it."
Gorka, who before joining the Trump administration was a national security editor for the far-right Breitbart News, has been a vocal critic of the media's coverage of the Trump administration and has defended the president's frequent accusations that journalists who cover his administration critically are "fake news."
Gorka's comments follow a particularly tumultuous 10 days for the White House, which has faced numerous controversies in the wake of FBI Director James Comey's abrupt firing last week.

The same official said that Gorka, 46, was brought in to the Trump administration to initially provide big picture, counter-terrorism expertise.
"To defeat extreme Islamic terrorism, you can't kill your way out of the problem. A plan is needed to defeat the ideology the same way Nazism was defeated" the official, who asked not to be named, said.
"[Gorka] was here to provide an overall strategy in that regard."
Gorka will take an outside position that deals with the "war of ideas" regarding radical Islamic extremism, sources told The Washington Examiner on Sunday.
