CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro delivered his most scathing critique of U.S. President Donald Trump yet Friday, telling him to stop intervening and get your pig hands out of here.
Speaking before a crowd of supporters, a fired-up Maduro accused Trump of promoting an interventionist policy that infringes on his socialist governments sovereignty. Go home, Donald Trump! he said in heavily accented English.
The remarks come a day after the Trump administration slapped sanctions against eight members of Venezuelas Supreme Court, accusing them of damaging the nations democracy. A ruling by the court in late March stripping the opposition-controlled assembly of its remaining powers ignited a deadly wave of unrest.
While Venezuelan leaders have lashed out at U.S. presidents frequently in the past, Maduro had largely been careful not to antagonize Trump. But Trumps repeated criticisms of the troubled South American nation appear to have struck a nerve. Speaking alongside Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Thursday, Trump expressed dismay at Venezuelas crisis, asking how a country holding the nations largest oil reserves could be stricken by so much poverty and turmoil.

(2,270 posts)... sounds to me like Maduro is just trying to rile up his supporters and maybe play to the opposition a little. You cannot dismiss how heavily he's disliked in his country. The Venezuelan people are dying in the streets opposing him for crying out loud! I wonder if WE as Americans are as passionate about injustice.
Just because we loathe our grouper in chief does not mean anyone who slam's him is working for "us". Remember...... those Supreme Court justices DID wipe out the opposition to Maduro giving him pretty much carte blanche to rule as he pleases.
Trump studies up on federal presidential republic types of governments.
Being called a pig...nothing to the dementia man.

(26,293 posts)Course if Maduro wants to really do it right he should try hiding behind Trumps head as its big enough to block the light from 99% of the observable universe.
