Gunman still unknown

POLICE scrambled to determine the identity of the masked gunman who attacked the Resorts World hotel and casino complex, as the official account became further muddled with the revelation that the assailant was likely a local, not Caucasian.
Metro Manila Police chief Oscar Albayalde, in a news conference with Resorts World executives on Saturday, said the suspect, who set himself on fire and shot himself in the mouth inside a fifth-floor Maxims Hotel room, had undergone autopsy.
His identity remains unknown however as police were unable to lift fingerprints, but Albayalde said investigators would examine DNA evidence.
That would be part of our investigation. Well get blood samples from the stairwell where he stayed. The dentures will undergo processing, he said.

(21,506 posts)He went a long time unchecked. Wonder where the hotel security was. He got all the way into the vaults after spending time lighting the tables on fire.
Never seen a casino that vacant before.

(1,542 posts)...that he seemed to know his way to the vaults... exactly which door he needed to breach... and grabbing high denomination chips that he would probably have no chance of cashing even if he got away...
Also, on another Vegas centric board, one of the posters there was just at this casino several months ago. He said that the security at that casino is paid minimum wage with very few of them with law enforcement experience... it also seems like the casino had no real comprehensive plan to deal with the devastating effects of the fire and the resulting smoke...
