Katie McHugh, Breitbart News Reporter, Tweets Racist Remarks After London Terror Attack

Katie McHugh, a Breitbart reporter, demonstrated exactly why her publication has been branded with terms such as racist, fascist and hate site in the past by people, after she posted an anti-Muslim remark on Twitter, in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in London on Saturday.
While the rest of the world offered condolences and prayers for the families of the victims, McHugh took to Twitter to blame the attack on Muslims living in the U.K.
Reacting to McHugh's remark, Pej Vahdat, an Iranian-American actor, called her a moron. McHugh, however, was quick enough to lash back at her critic by incorrectly identifying his nativity as an Indian, which she posed as an insult.
. . .
"People think I'm kidding when I say this but the crusades need to come back, Ryan Saavedra, another Breitbart writer, wrote after retweeting his fellow employee, McHughs tweet. Saavedra has since deleted his tweet but not before insinuating that the terror attacks will continue if no one takes a stern step against it.

(4,490 posts)Please don't try and distract from what's being said here to get a stupid dig at members of this forum and a comedian. Breitbart is a large white supremacist propaganda company operating out of the Whitehouse. The differrnce in the two situations isn't comparable in the least.

Apologists here mortify me. They think they're being "strategic" by standing in solidarity with a bigot, but it repulsed many of us. You don't get to sweep it under the rug. You don't get to ask me to shut up and give the mike to a bigot. Get over it.

(10,018 posts)Bannon sees Muslims as evil, and there will be a great clash of the religions as Christians fight the Muslims and wipe them off the face of the earth. How he thinks anyone would survive such an armageddon is mind boggling. The Trump policy against Muslims is a misguided Crusade, but one that will not end well for anyone. Spare me the religious fanatics--our right-wing so-called Christians and the fake Muslims of ISIS.

(45,462 posts)for some reason.
It's the same reason why a certain demographic of people deny the mass murders and terrorism committed by white supremacists. Rise up by stepping on the heads of someone else.
People in UK have often told the Irish that they can improve their treatment from UK society and be considered more British if they throw POC under the bus.
No matter how many Katie McHughs, Ann Coulters, and Sarah Palins exist, there are some here desperately reminding us that the problem is male.

(3,051 posts)The popular history has been re-written during the heyday of the British Empire to make England (and Europe, in general) look grand and rather marshal. Later, this was re-written again to cast on it a bit of white-man's guilt to show how noble Europe is to have recognized the error of its conquering ways.
The truth is much less glorious. The Crusades (which is an overbroad term, spanning lots of different conflicts) was, in general, a defensive war against the Turks and others (generally Muslim) who, quite, literally almost conquered Europe and were stopped about at Vienna.
The fact Europe was almost conquered by a group that had better technology and were more advanced politically, industrially, and militarily is an inconvenient fact for the Eurocentric mindset.
