Republican senators have opened an investigation into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch based on the same Russian fake news that prompted former FBI director James Comey to act on the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
The secret document, which the FBI now considers to be phony, appeared to be a piece of Russian intelligence claiming that Lynch had privately assured the Clinton campaign that the investigation into her handling of classified information would be limited.
That false information prompted Comey to publicly declare in July that the investigation was over, but he criticized Clinton for extremely careless handling of classified info.
The Senate Judiciary Committee sent a letter Friday to Lynch asking about her involvement in the FBI investigation, including whether she had assured Clinton associates that the probe wouldnt push too deeply into the matter.

The article never mentions the Senate Intelligence Committee, and all the references in the linked article are to the Senate JUDICIARY Committee.
Yes, it says "panel" rather than committee, but it is an inaccurate and misleading headline.
Facts matter.
Just my view, but the effect of the headline is to unfairly besmirch the Senate Intelligence Committee which, again in my view, has behaved more nearly bipartisan than the Judiciary Committee and is now a crucial factor in the exposure of Russian/Republican hanky panky. So don't knock it unless the facts support knocking it.
