Bernie Sanders slams 'pathetic' fraud claim against his wife

Source: BBC

3 hours ago From the section US & Canada

The FBI is reportedly investigating whether Jane Sanders lied to financiers while securing a loan for a college which she led.

Mr Sanders told CNN: "It's a sad state of affairs in America when not only we have politicians being destroyed, but when you go after people's wives.

The couple are understood to have hired high-profile Washington lawyers.

Mr Sanders, a senator for Vermont, has previously called the inquiry politically motivated.

DV's decision makes perfect sense to me! So why has This thread, telling the exact same story, Not been Locked? Yes, the story on the BBC website was posted there less than 12 hours before being copied and pasted-posted here. But that means the original breaking story was EVEN FURTHER outside the 12-hour window!

....the only ones in that group I can recall is Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama. Clinton mostly because she was intellectually threatening, and Obama mostly with vile racist comments and pictures (and also too smart for their liking)

The two Bushes and Nancy Reagan were treated with respect other than a few minor joking comments, which were more in jest and not mean spirited. Even Melania is being respected so far, probably out of pity for having to deal with that dolt she married.

It's okay to be suspicious based on the source, but the FBI wouldn't start an actual investigation unless there evidence that indicated the possibility a crime was committed.

I must admit... ever since the Sanderses refused to release their income taxes, I've been pretty suspicious.

The allegation is that he leaned on the Peoples Bank to compel them to approve the fraudulent loan.

It has been established that the numbers were fudged. The only question at this point is who takes the blame for the fudging. Jane did sign the documents presented to the bank. She's also hired Scooter Libby's lawyer.

I believe the accusations against Sanders might be coming FROM bankers involved in the issue of the loan, but I don't know that for certain. That will no doubt all come out when the case is wrapped up.

The investigation is still ongoing, though. No conclusions have been reached, so it's pointless to speculate as to the outcome at this point in time. About the only point of interest is that he had to know this was percolating when he was pointing fingers elsewhere, which makes him appear a bit opportunistic, to be kind about it.
