An Oceanside minister supported Trump. Now, he's getting deported

Source: LA TIMES

Jorge Ramirez, an Oceanside minister and immigrant who is in the country illegally, didn’t think he would end up in line for deportation when he encouraged his U.S. citizen daughter to vote for now-President Trump.

In an interview at the Otay Mesa Detention Center, Ramirez — who said he holds conservative religious beliefs and considers himself a Republican — explained that Border Patrol agents picked him up after staking out his house early one May morning.Ramirez said he does not know why he was targeted for removal from the U.S. The Trump administration has said that it is focusing on immigrants with criminal records and those who previously have been ordered deported. Ramirez said he falls into neither category.

“Trump said, ‘Let’s keep all the good people here and all the bad people out,’” Ramirez said.

“That’s great, but I’m here,” Ramirez said of his detention. “I’m not saying I’m the best person in the world, but I’ve tried to live a good life.”

This moron wasn't able to draw a connection when Donald said "all Mexicans were rapists."

I know this sounds intensive but this is an example of karmic justice.

Or as Nelson might say.

He should have had the sense to know what he was getting by the time election day came around. Did he pay ANY attention to the garbage that candidate Trump was spewing every day and night of the week? Why would he think he would be special? He suggests he thought that "good people" would be allowed to stay and the "bad people" would be deported. I wonder how many "good people" have been mercilessly deported because of Trumpers like this guy?

I knew trump was horrible from the first time I noticed him on tv. If I saw him on the street, I'd cross to the other side and stay in a crowd. There are some people on tv that you automatically like. I liked George Clooney when I saw him. Other people, I am neutral about, like Mark Zuckerberg.

I just don't understand all of these people who voted for any repuke, and then cry because they got screwed sideways. If they were sheep and saw a wolf, would they try to cuddle up with it? And what sane woman would vote repuke? Do they have no survival instinct? It's like the victims in horror movies. SNL did it best: "Don't go into the basement!" For God's sake, if you want to keep your standard of living, don't vote for Republicans. EVER.

My family was dysfunctional and I think my life experiences made me more wary. I've always assumed that the school of hard knocks had some benefit. And had the impression that the reason so many elected representatives have no empathy is because nothing bad ever happened to them. Thanks, I'm always open to new viewpoints.

Those raised to fear have a lot harder time doing that.
But even people who are fortunate need to be able to experience other people's lives to have a more rounded perspective. I know when I was young I was intimidated by people who were assertive and advocated for themselves, and now I admire them. But it just wasn't something I was used to seeing in a positive way.

Being asserting setting boundaries is hard if you have to learn the skills. I had a hard time the first few times, but it gets easier. I think trump was born flawed and would never improve. Plus he is an old silver spoon in his mouth brat.

Trump has been an evil, hateful, bigoted bully all his life. If you refused to recognize what he is and actually endorsed the creep, you'll have to live with the consequences.

You're a minister and you voted for the admitted pussy-grabber. He called Mexicans thieves, rapists and bad hombres. Yet, you still voted for him. Would you also let him, with his omnipotent celebrity star status, grab your daughter's pussies? I guess you believed that he would only deport the 'bad' ones. He's a known liar, idiot. And since you're a minister how come God didn't instruct Dolt45 to leave you alone because you are one of the 'good' ones? I guess you are going to have to get used to the fact that not only does Dolt45 not want you here but, obviously, neither does God. Bye Felicia!

It's a real tragedy now that the screwing he thought would be applied to others is applied to him.

That's the fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans don't give a damn what happens to others until it happens to them or one of theirs. Democrats don't have to have that happen to care.
