Florida will comply with part of Trump commission's voter data request

Source: Tampa Bay Times

Florida agreed Thursday to comply with a request from President Donald Trump's voter-fraud commission to provide extensive voter roll data — but only partially.

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner said the state will provide the data that are publicly available, but will not hand over any information on voters that is not public, including drivers' license numbers or Social Security information.

The Presidential Advisory Commission for Voter Integrity sent a letter on June 28 to state election officials asking them to hand over voter data by July 14. The commission requested a long list of information "if publicly available under the laws of your state," including voters' names, registration status, political party affiliation, voting history, partial Social Security numbers and other information.

Detzner replied in a letter to the commission Thursday.

They are simply giving them the publicly available data that anyone can get. And nothing else.

why do they have to request it? And why is Florida giving it?

Make no mistake, this is complying.

4. Chair Of South Carolina GOP Gives Voter Data To Trumps Fraud Panel After State Refused

On Monday, South Carolina voters cheered when the state’s Election Commission refused to provide voter data to Donald Trump’s election fraud commission. Just three days later, the state’s Republican Party told those voters to kiss off.

On July 6, S.C. Republican Party Chair Drew McKissick announced that he would purchase the data himself, which the SEC allows state parties to do. He directly forwarded that data to the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity.

Claiming critics were “crying like stuck pigs,” McKissick told The Post & Courier that SEC’s refusal was biased:

I really hate my state's legislature and governor, really, really just totally loathe them. Big whoop, glad they follow FL law and protect my drivers' license # and SS #, but name, address, dob, can be used for identity fraud. Fuck them! Of course the asses that started this have endangered so many Americans' privacy and finances, not just folks from my state, with this idiotic request so they can lie and implement new voter restrictions, like requiring a passport, when so many people don't have them and don't have the $ or documents needed to even get a passport. of course there aren't a lot of these offices, so travel to get there can also be an issue for people living on the edge. But, that's why they will do it, stop the poor from voting. If they could make it illegal for women to vote, they would. Wonder when they'll start requiring married women to show their marriage certificate or not allowing us to vote? I'm sure they will also try to implement restrictions so college students can't vote except in their home town and not accepting college ID's.

Of course, the ultimate consumer for this information is Putin and his team of hackers.

13. Sounds more like a "you can go through the process to get what's available to the public" notice.

However, the SoS (and hell, every SoS) should add - "and like anyone else who wants the more in depth voter demographic information in this state that's not already on our Elections public web page, that's $20K per district, payable to the state's general fund."

Let's see how fast that "Voter as we define them Integrity" Advisory Committee can waste their funding before they even finish getting the data...
