JOHNSON CREEK, Wis. (AP) Police in Wisconsin responded to a disturbance near an outlet mall in suburban Milwaukee, and a witness said officers shot a man armed with a gun after he tried to enter a restaurant.
Authorities were called Tuesday to an area near Johnson Creek Premium Outlets in Johnson Creek, about 45 miles (72.42 kilometers) west of Milwaukee. Television news footage showed several police cars on the scene.
WISN-TV cited a witness to report that a man with a gun tried to enter an Arby's restaurant. The witness, Brian Knapp, told the station the man could not get in, turned around and fired a shot, and officers shot him.
The man's condition wasn't immediately known. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said no one was available to talk about what was happening.

(18,821 posts)The incident began around 12:45 p.m. when a witness said the man took off his clothes at a park and ride near Pewaukee and carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint, Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson said. The carjacking victim was not hurt, he said.
The naked man left in the stolen vehicle and headed west on Interstate 94. At one point authorities placed stop sticks on the highway and deflated the vehicle's tires, but the man kept driving and waved his handgun out the window toward officers, Severson said.
The suspect, whose name wasn't immediately released, eventually pulled into an Arby's parking lot in Johnson Creek, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Pewaukee, where he ran toward the restaurant with the gun. The man ignored orders to stop and was shot by a Waukesha County sheriff's deputy and a Delafield police officer, the sheriff said.
