Clay Aiken: 'Trump didnt decide who got fired on "Apprentice"'
Source: The Hill
Clay Aiken, a former Celebrity Apprentice contestant, contends President Trump, famous for his Youre fired! catchphrase, wasnt the one making the big decisions on the series.
Trump didnt decide who got fired on Apprentice, I mean, NBC made those decisions, Aiken, who competed on the then-Trump-hosted Celebrity Apprentice in 2012, recently told Domecast, a podcast from North Carolinas News & Observer newspaper.
There used to be a little thing right on his desk that looked like a phone he pretended it was a phone but it was actually a teleprompter where the producers were sending him notes, said Aiken, who launched a failed House bid in North Carolina as a Democrat in 2014. He didn't know that people were getting in fights during the week while we were doing these tasks, the producers did. And they'd send him notes and he'd say, Oh you two didn't get along.
Aiken says, It was very much, Im not a doctor, but I play one on TV.

Let's hope it works this way with White House. "You short-fingered vulgarian, you're fired."

(32,823 posts)Trump had very little to do with running the show, other than to show up when the cameras were rolling.
There have been tons of rumors that he could never learn his "lines" so they stopped giving him a script. He used to make stuff up as he went along and most of the time it was off-script and they couldn't use it. I've read that most of the taping with Trump (not the other actors) would get edited out because he'd say things that were sexist, racist, or completely off-color.
The show had high ratings on a Sunday night and they couldn't have him saying that stuff on the air. Somewhere the producers of "The Apprentice" have archived hundreds of hours of Trump on tape saying horrible things that got edited out of the show. "Grab them by the pussy" is tame by comparison.
Sooner or later the confidentiality agreements will run out, and we'll see all of it on the internet. I'm sure of it.
