Gov. Paul LePage may seek U.S. Senate seat after all

Source: Bangor Daily News

AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage said he may jump into the U.S. Senate race after all.

Speaking to a Portland radio station Thursday morning, the governor said he’s getting pressure to reconsider his decision to steer clear of the 2018 contest.

U.S. Sen. Angus King, a first-term Maine independent, has only one challenger to his re-election bid so far, Republican state Sen. Eric Brakey of Auburn.

LePage said Brakey is “a great guy and a good person,” but his campaign hasn’t yet caught hold with voters.

Yes, this. Le Page has never received anything close to a majority in Maine, both were 3 way races stuffmatters Jul 2017 #9
Actually he got over 48% in 2014 because of the split and Dems ran a SHITTY campaign. LBM20 Jul 2017 #12

He's a proto-trump. With all the same racist, misogynistic hate that Donny ran on.

Also, he only won Maines governorship because he ran in a crowded field of five general election candidates and didn't even get 40% of the vote.

I agree with the previous poster who identified LePage as a proto Trump.

He "governs" by intimidation, bullying and temper tantrums. He is Donald Trump without the Twitter rants, golf trips and trophy wife who hates him. He is a genuinely detestable man and I imagine that Angus King RELISHES the prospect of running against him. Of course, he'll receive a lot of support from the teabaggers and gun nuts, so he can't be taken too lightly, but I believe that King would destroy LePage!

PEACE!

...I think I just heard the sound of champaign corks popping from Sen. King's offices and home.

Of course, we'll know for sure that the ever rampaging and cowardly Paul LerPage is running the second that Eliot Cutler announces HIS candidacy so he can rescue LePage again as he did in 2014.

PEACE!

I was worried that he would just ride into the sunset after winning two fluke elections.

I really want his career to end in defeat. Now if only Rick Scott will do the same.

He's obnoxious and stupid beyond belief. defeat without a spoiler by King would be certain.
