House Republicans want a new, sweeping probe of Clinton

Source: McClatchy

House Republicans are intensifying their effort to have the Justice Department investigate Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, as they're seeking the same sort of special counsel probe President Donald Trump's campaign is now enduring.

House Judiciary Committee Republicans detailed in a seven page letter to Justice a request for a special counsel to investigate “actions taken” by Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Earlier this week, committee Republicans agreed to seek documents related to Comey's investigation of Clinton's private email server while secretary of state.

Nixon was never convicted, and Bush 1 pardoned people involved in Iran Contra. The only rule is that the president can't pardon when it comes to impeachment, and the crime has to have been commited already. It doesn't matter if anyone even knows about the crime in question. It can be general too, such as a blanket pardon for federal crimes comitted. It's something that has come up and been exercised in this manner multiple times in our history.

If not, then don't let the Special Council forget:
- Rose Law Firm
- Whitewater
- Monica Lewinski
- Jennifer Flowers
- Benghazi
- Huma Abedin
- Travelgate
- Filegate
- Vince Foster
- Renting the Lincoln Bedroom
- The Clinton Foundation

The Clintons have been under investigation by various hate groups (including the GOP) almost constantly for 40 years. I'm sure a good investigator could spend millions of tax-payer dollars reinvestigating all the stuff that has already been investigated numerous times with absolutely no charges being brought (except for skirting too close to the truth when being asked about his affair with Monica.) Sure, that's what we need to spend our tax dollars on, not health care, or infrastructure, or anything important like that. Let's investigate Hillary and pay no attention to that man in the big white house over there!

THE GOP IS MADE UP OF A BUNCH OF TRAITOROUS BASTARDS!!

There's two sides to every coin, right GOPPERS? If someone is arrested for criminal behavior, isn't it important to be certain that the arresting officer led a life that Jesus Christ himself would have envied?

So tired of these inane, false equivalencies that the right wing foists upon us to obfuscate their ACTUAL crimes. To them, crimes are never to be adjudicated on their own merits; there always has to be a comparison to another paradigm.

Hey, if a Democrat violates the law, I'm all for justice. I don't need to say, "but the Republicans do it too". Fine. Prove your respective cases and throw ALL criminals into the slammer.
