GOP states move to cut Medicaid

Source: The Hill

Republican governors are working with the Trump administration to do something Congress couldn’t accomplish — fundamentally alter their state Medicaid programs.

At least six states with GOP governors— Arkansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Maine, Wisconsin and Indiana — have already drafted plans meant to introduce new rules people would have to meet to be eligible for Medicaid, which provides healthcare to the poor.

Some want to add work requirements or introduce drug testing for recipients. Others want to raise premium prices.

President Trump’s administration has to approve the plans. Some approvals could come in weeks.

So they're the ones responsible for the "burden" of taxes on the wealthy, the businesses - oh, and the middle class.

Get rid of as many of the poor as you can, except for the profitable working poor you paid a coyote to bring over illegally so that you can just deport them once they start becoming a burden, and there's your tax problems taken care of - right?

And those "oh so normal and middle class" suburban denizens who live paycheck to paycheck, the Chamber of Commerce hacks and business owners whose "bread and butter" is made by surviving off government contracts or subsidies, and the religious fanatics who think being Poor or having dark skin is proof of some god's disgusted punishment will be utterly surprised when they are the next ones in the crosshairs.

In the short term, the "wealthy" individuals and internationalized corporations don't appear to actually need Countries or taxpaying citizens that support laws and regulations; however, those Countries, their laws and regulations, and taxpaying citizens are the basis of their wealth, and without them, the world will just be one big YOLO sandbox game of "King of the Hill" - where even the Winner will lose when there's nothing but "Money" - no infrastructure, no luxuries, no healthy environment - and no friend left that can be loved or trusted.

But, that's what the GOP to a man or woman all want - the World to end after they've finished taking what they want from it. And there's a lot of thoughtless drones that will support them just for a chance to be able to do whatever they want with no apparent consequences.

while the poor will die of overdoses since Trump's people want police to stop providing Narcan/Naxalone also.

It's not even a joke. A lot of deplorables are furious that Obama included coverage for substance abuse treatment and mental health into the ACA because it's a costly problem.

And then there are people who have caught HIV from needles and depend on Medicaid for expensive HIV treatment.

Watch them blame liberals and immigrants for the drug problem but not big pharma lying about safe dosages.

on this, this is discrimination in every sense of the word.

When one of these f*cking states doesn't want to help with poor and disabled and the some of the other states want to help the poor and disabled, this is just f*cking unconscionable what these 6 states are doing.

Can you imagine walking around with ALS or MS not knowing it and then when you are getting sicker, these 6 f*cking ass**** governors are conspiring to kill people because they think they should work for medicaid, guess what ass**** most people are working and using Medicaid , because your a f*cking as****, trying to pit human beings against human beings because you have f*cking nothing, but sh*t come out of your mouth and the sexual predators mouth.

This folks is how the federal "REPUBLICAN" ass**** want block grants to work, it's playing out in real time with this article

And where is the f*cking corporate media on this, talking about how some new general is going to reign in a sexual predator.................. he's a f*cking loser and sore one at that

The ACA expands Medicaid coverage for most low-income adults to 138% of the federal poverty level (FPL).

Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration waivers provide states an avenue to test new approaches in Medicaid that differ from federal program rules.

"While there is great diversity in how states have used waivers over time, waivers generally reflect priorities identified by states and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Looking ahead, states are likely to continue to request waivers to implement provisions not allowed under current law. The Trump administration recently signaled in a letter to governors that CMS would be open to considering waiver requests concerning work requirements in Medicaid, for instance, and some states may wish to experiment with premiums and cost-sharing requirements. See http://www.kff.org/tag/waivers/

Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana have approved Section 1115 waivers for the Medicaid expansion.

Kentucky - adopted the Medicaid expansion.

Maine - did not adopt Medicaid expansion

Wisconsin - did not adopt the ACA expansion. Wisconsin claimed to already covers adults up to 100% FPL in Medicaid. Not sure this is still the case.
