Chinese Ambassador: China 'will never allow chaos and war' on the Korean Peninsula

The Chinese ambassador to the United Nations on Monday encouraged dialogue to deal with the North Korean threat.

During an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council, Liu Jieyi said the situation on the Korean peninsula is "deteriorating constantly" and the issue needs to be resolved "peacefully."

"China will never allow chaos and war on the peninsula," he said.

"The parties concerned must strengthen their sense of urgency, take due responsibilities, play their due roles, take practical measures, make joint efforts together to ease the situation, restart the dialogue and talks and prevent further deterioration of the situation on the peninsula." His comments come after North Korea claimed it successfully tested a miniaturized hydrogen bomb capable of fitting on an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

1) China could be reassuring the world that it won't let NK start launching missiles with nukes at other nations.

2) China could be warning Trump not to do a preemptive strike.

3) China could be tacitly supporting the right of South Korea to exist as an independent sovereign nation, as well as that right for NK.

4) China could be warning Kim to cool his jets, or else ... what?

5) China could be contemplating invading NK to depose Kim and install a more stable and internationally acceptable regime.

6) China could be warning the West not to work towards removing Kim and installing a more Western-friendly regime.

7) China could be warning Trump to re-establish diplomatic talks with NK to resolve the current crisis... or what?

if the US did a preemptive strike, then China might quickly invade to prevent the US from gaining any foothold, and because they know we do not want a military confrontation with them. Would even a low-grade Chinese military presence in NK stop the US in its tracks? Wouldn't put it past NK and China to stage a small one in secret for that very reason.

Regardless, if bullets or bombs start flying, South Korea will suffer. Not sure anyone can predict how Kim will react to even the smallest attack, but I suspect he has some very, very nasty surprises awaiting any invader. I seriously feel any US or SK boots on NK soil would bring on an epic disaster.

I do have trouble understanding why all these high-strung bastards can't ease conditions and start talks.
