Prosecutors seek to revoke Shkreli's bail over threat to Clinton

Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to revoke Martin Shkreli’s bail and put him in custody after the convicted former pharmaceutical CEO offered money for a lock of Hillary Clinton’s hair, CNBC reports.

Shkreli is currently out of prison on $5 million bail as he awaits sentencing on his three securities fraud convictions.

In a Facebook post, Shkreli offered $5,000 for anyone who can get a sample of Clinton’s hair. Prosecutors characterized Shkreli’s post as a threat that could lead someone to break state and federal criminal laws. They said the Secret Service had to launch an investigation into the threats that required a "significant expenditure of resources."

The request also cited previous comments made by Shkreli toward women on social media. Shkreli was banned from Twitter earlier this year after harassing journalist Lauren Duca and The Young Turks' Ana Kasperian.
