Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock reportedly searched for hotels overlooking Fenway Park
Source: Washington Post
Stephen Paddock, the 64-year-old gunman who killed at least 58 people and injured hundreds more when he sprayed bullets into a group of concertgoers from two windows of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, came close to striking Fenway Park in Boston, according to NBC News.
Citing senior law enforcement officials, NBC report stated there was no evidence that Paddock traveled to Boston, but he did research outdoor concerts and hotels in the area, most of which only offer an obstructed view inside the ballpark. The report did not state the dates of the research, although Fenway, home to the Red Sox, has hosted several concerts in recent months, including Lady Gaga, Billy Joel and New Kids on the Block, according to NECN.com.
Boston Police acknowledged the reports on Thursday, but would not comment on the investigation other than to say state officials have been in contact with authorities in Las Vegas.
We are aware of the media reports and are in contact with our local and federal law enforcement partners here and in Las Vegas, Boston Police said in a statement (via CBS Boston). The LVMPD is the lead investigating agency, therefore, all further inquiries should be directed to them.

It just seems odd that he would have no political leanings at all and be so hell bent on making such a statement. That he could act normal for so long while secretly planning multiple shootings....without reason (even if there is no actual good reason for this). Makes no sense.

(18,124 posts)like I know, he lived in territory controlled by clive bundy, so he will be suspect as far as I am concerned, whether no political affiliation is admitted by MSM or anyone else. He is a white ameriKKKan terrorist for sure......

I'm talking from a human, potential victim of POS like this point of view, if too "emotional" for you, so be it...your "professional" opinion means nothing to me. Keep that fact straight in your mind. Done with you...

(1,459 posts)That doesn't mean that every crime that you are personally afraid of is one of terror.
Please don't take the trump voter tact and shut out that 'fancy book lernin' because it doesn't conform to what you'd like it to be.

Most people at least try to justify it intellectually. Better to just own that it's emotionally driven and go from there.

(53 posts)Any clear motives that fits some kind of narrative (ISIS, anti-Trump, anti-Liberal, etc...) will be just a distraction from the bigger issue, which is gun control. So if there isn't a clear motive, then maybe, just maybe, the debate will finally be about whether it's a good idea for civilians to legally own mass murder tools when your country is suffering from an epidemic of mass murder; or whether legally owning a gun (whose main purpose is to deliberately injure or kill), should be held to at least the same standards and regulations as say getting a car (whose main purpose is actually not to injure or kill), when gun deaths accounts for the same number of deaths every year.
I won't be holding my breath.

(18,124 posts)in the hands of americans and ameriKKKans like the one that has sparked this current debate, which without legislation and trumps brownshirts going door to door, breaking them down for search and confiscate(never happen, ever), gun control in this country WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Period. I wish it would, but from the stand in the middle of the street and gun em down days, guns have been and are an extension of the virtue or not, of manhood in this now fascist, racist nation.
