Clinton: We made a person who committed sexual assault president
Source: MSN/The Hill
Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton discussed the culture of sexual assault following a myriad of new sexual harassment and assault allegations against Hollywood film producer and longtime Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein. In an interview with the U.K.'s Channel 4 News on Saturday, Clinton said:
"Look, we just elected someone who admitted sexual assault to the presidency. So there's a lot of other issues that are swirling around these kinds of behaviors that need to be addressed," Clinton said when asked if she had heard rumors of Weinstein's behavior before the bombshell reports.
"I think it's important that we stay focused, and shine a bright spotlight, and try to get people to understand how damaging this is," she continued.

Trump faced major backlash during the presidential campaign when he was heard bragging about groping and kissing women on a leaked "Access Hollywood" tape from 2005.

(13,594 posts)long run. It's great if some inbred half-wit hates Obamacare as long as it has it's ACA medical coverage. Same with hating them welfare people, as long as they git their SNAP, WIC, housing subsidy and whatever else. Start taking away those things from people that feel they deserve it, just not them other type people, and they may start to wise up a little.

(89,252 posts)Even the Republicans didn't believe the only person who accused him of rape. Or at least they wouldn't put her on the stand. With as many billions as have been spent investigating the Clintons, either the Republicans are the worst investigators in the world, or there's nothing to find.

Isn't that what we fight for? The right to make our own decisions?

(13,043 posts)though they may not have the emotional intelligence to know better. We just need to make sure we teach our daughters and granddaughters to be confident in themselves, have high self esteem and the moral conscience to know a man in power behaving in such predatory fashion is not appropriate. They also need to know better to avoid those types of men. Many girls at 18 -25, even older, are naive about the machinations of the corporate & political world. Parents really should talk to their girls about such things before sending them off to college.

(218 posts)He may have had the power--but remember, this was a set up.
She was being guided by her friend, Linda--who told her to "keep that dress."
It was a set up.
That's not to say that Bill wasn't stupid, he was. But there were people in the background telling the young woman what to do.
She was no innocent succumbing.
Remember that.

"Jones sued Clinton for allegedly exposing himself to her in a hotel room in 1991. The Jones suit, which went all the way to the Supreme Court, was ultimately dismissed by a judge on the grounds Jones could not show damages. While it was on appeal, Bill Clinton paid $850,000 to settle the suit without admitting liability."

(22,756 posts)I have no interest in discussing Bill Clinton's sexual behavior, but the difference is we made Trump President after very public, concrete evidence that he was/is a sexual predator, Clinton was not elected with that much public knowledge

The most powerful man in the world, and an intern. That alone is vile and disgusting.
It sickens me that Trump is our President given what hes alleged to have done, but what Bill Clinton did is in the same ballpark.

However, it's not sexual assault, which is I believe, the topic of the OP is.
The two are in wholly separate parks.

(6,280 posts)...and It seems the majority of Americans disagree with the anti-clinton crowd as he did have a 65% percentage approval rating upon leaving office. Equating Bill Clinton with Donald Trump is disgusting in itself.
Clinton's 65% Gallup Poll approval rating was the highest Gallup approval rating of any postwar President leaving office.

(11,989 posts)Even if Hillary believes that all Bill's philandering was entirely consensual and never crossed any ethical lines beyond mere infidelity, she has to know that a lot of the public is not so sure about that and will see this as someone throwing a stone from a glass house.
