Collins: Trump's healthcare moves hurt 'vulnerable people'

Source: MSN

President Donald Trump's recent, aggressive actions on health care will make it harder for people to access care, Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins warned on Sunday. "What the President is doing is affecting the ability of vulnerable people to receive health care right now," Collins said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that could dismantle some of the rules around the Obamacare marketplaces, and the administration announced later the same day it would end subsidies geared toward helping low-income people afford care.

She said she believed the actions Trump took will hurt American citizens.

"These certainly are very disruptive moves that will result in smaller numbers of people being insured, that will make it more difficult for low-income people to afford their out-of-pocket costs and that will destabilize the insurance markets," Collins said.

... doing my best to channel Saul Alinsky. His rules really do get folks attention with the least amount of time explaining things.

I've read several commentaries citing analysis that 70% of those who lose under Trumpcare are in states that voted for Trump. Of course, this does not mean that everyone who loses under Trumpcare voted for the bastard, but, given the demographic of his voters, it's probable that most of them are.

It's too easy to say they are getting what they deserve and what they voted for, however, that's not the Christian thing to say -- so I won't.

voted Dem in every election (local included) since 1980. I need the ACA and subsidies and am so I'll I had to stop teaching...too young to retire with benefits. I would say the same thing...the deplorable morons deserve the moron they elected. But the world is not fair and I will be suffering in pain and going bankrupt until I eventually die (diagnosed last Sept 2016). I want to see the fucking moron and his family and GOP go down in flames before I do.

A feature, not a bug (to borrow a line). The AnusMouth in charge has no sense of sympathy for poor people. It interferes with his golf-playing.
