Trump ad attacks Dems for blocking ObamaCare repeal

Source: The Hill

President Trump is out with a new advertisement hitting Democrats for "obstructing" the president and congressional Republicans' efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

The ad, paid for by the Republican National Committee, frames Democratic lawmakers as refusing to take action on former President Obama's signature health care law in an effort to "score political points with the radical left."

"ObamaCare is failing. Insurance premiums skyrocketing," the ad's narrator says. "Working families suffer all while Democrats in Washington, D.C. block a better plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare once and for all. Obstructing our president, just to score political points with the radical left."

"President Trump will fix it," the ad continues. "He wants what's best for the American people. Top quality health care you can afford. Tell Washington Democrats end the obstruction, work with our president."

4. Most political ads are authoritarian propaganda

these days. But I suspect the purpose & effect of this particular strain of propaganda isn’t quite what you (& the vast majority of voters) ascribe to it. I honestly think that the whole purpose of the GOP effort to “repeal & replace” Obamacare is simply to give the impression that substantive changes have been made to the socio-economic trajectory which current healthcare policy has us on, when in fact the destination (socialized medicine) is the same; only superficial changes to the path are being proposed.

5. I thought Congress was still responsible for writing the laws

"President Trump will fix it" is pure bullshit from the Authoritarianism for Dummies playbook.

Since the Repugs are preventing the Dems from even offering any amendments to their crappy bills, the Democrats in Congress have no obligation to support these blatant attempts do undo what was accomplished under the Obama administration (which had no indictments or guilty pleas in eight years, BTW).

6. We need to get out in front of this, especially on the point of why insurance rates are rising

45* guaranteed that insurance rates will rise through his executive action. There are a great many Americans who won't connect the dots, we need to make sure they realize that 45* caused this and that it's not an inherent flaw in the Affordable Care Act.

The problem with fighting these assholes is that they can tell so many lies one after another and we don't counter them fast enough. It's a strategy they've been using successfully for many years.

we need a quick counter-punch. Someone to point out that there is no "replace" plan that will make it better and more affordable.
We also must point out that it was the Pugs that can't even pass their own bills.

TRUTH is always better than bullshit!!!!

He has the big bucks. I wish he could run ads that counter the GOP propaganda on healthcare and tax reform issues.

what a waste of money "attack ads" are. Republicans squander billions (of other peoples money) on crap.

Fight back immediately.

Run an ad as soon as possible saying "Damn right we are blocking the repeal of the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT! (Don't use "Obamacare" )...so millions can retain their health insurance."
