Nearly 100 Clinton campaign staffers hit back at Brazile

Nearly 100 former Clinton campaign staffers have signed onto an open letter hitting back at former Democratic National Committee head Donna Brazil's depiction of the campaign in her upcoming memoir,
In the letter, 94 former campaign members said that the campaign portrayed by Brazile is unrecognizable to them, and blasted the former DNC interim chair for once considering removing Clinton as the party's presidential nominee a revelation made in Brazile's book.
"Donna came in to take over the DNC at a very difficult time," the letter, published on the website Medium, reads. "We were grateful to her for doing so. She is a longtime friend and colleague of many of us and has been an important leader in our party. But we do not recognize the campaign she portrays in the book."
The former staffers also accused the former DNC interim chair of buying into "false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent," claiming that Clinton's health was deteriorating during the campaign.

OPEN LETTER FROM HILLARY FOR AMERICA 2016 TEAM
We were shocked to learn the news that Donna Brazile actively considered overturning the will of the Democratic voters by attempting to replace Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as the Democratic Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees. It is particularly troubling and puzzling that she would seemingly buy into false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent, about our candidates health.
Donna came in to take over the DNC at a very difficult time. We were grateful to her for doing so. She is a longtime friend and colleague of many of us and has been an important leader in our party. But we do not recognize the campaign she portrays in the book.
The 2016 presidential campaign was unlike any in our history. It was very difficult for our candidates and our staff. We are very proud that throughout the campaign and the aftermath the staff stuck together, worked as a team, and did the best we could for both Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine. We did this for the simple reason that we thought Hillary Clinton would make the best President for the country we all love. We have now, as we did throughout the campaign, enormous love and pride for our candidate, Hillary Clinton. She, more than any of us, persevered through an incredibly difficult campaign and her commitment and stamina inspired us every day. We are very proud of the effort she and the campaign made in both the primary and the general election.
The general election loss was devastating for us all and something we live with every day. And while frustrating that the general election vote total did not change the outcome of the election, we remain proud that Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine received nearly 3 million more votes in the general election than their opponents.
Finally, we are pretty tired of people who were not part of our campaign telling the world what it was like to be on the inside of our campaign and how we felt about it. We loved our candidate and each other and it remains our honor to have been part of the effort to make Hillary Clinton the 45th President of the United States.
All Democrats should be doing everything they can canvassing, phone banking, etc. to help our candidates for Governor of Virginia and New Jersey and the other races around the country next Tuesday.

(81,267 posts)I saw her at a state Democratic Convention one year when it held in L.A. and I was a volunteer. She gave a pretty good speech. But that was it. So did Ann Lewis, but with her, too, I wondered so what are you actually, realistically, practically going to DO about it???
Ive been underwhelmed by her for a long time. Keeps bringing that old feather duster to all the fun fights.

(21,635 posts)a) She wanted to cash in to make sure her family was set when she passes on, and thought that writing an explosive tell-all would guarantee that.
or b) Uncle Vlad, through intermediaries and with promises of a big, fat Swiss bank account in tow, put her up to it.
Of course, it hope it was just 'a' and not 'b' - but either way, and while she wasn't the brightest star in Democratic skies, this is a real disappointment.
To borrow a term from Cheeto: SAD.

In her memoir, Brazile says that it was "shameful" that Clinton's campaign sought to conceal details about her health.

(10,500 posts)details about her health. Candidates have never been expected to report every illness or sick day.
Hillary provided the same details of her health history that every other candidate in history has provided. Donald Trump did not, unless you count some bizarre, fake report he released, which babbled something about him being the healthiest candidate in history.

just another of the many 'attack threads' tearing us apart.
We need to stop squabbling among ourselves and focus on defeating the GOP in 2018 and 2020.
Continuing the 'circular firing squad' only helps the Republicans.

(6,288 posts)Trump's immediate weigh in brought that party fight to the front lines.
Brazile just did as much damage with her lies as Guccifer the Russian troll did with his doctored info whipped out just in time to damage the Dem Party.
It became LBN the moment Trump's tweet went out.
It became LBN with the sudden oopsie backtrack Brazile today sent out.
It became LBN right now with the 100 HFA staffers calling Brazile's comments bull shit.
This is not petty infighting.
We see what's taking place. We see you Donna Brazile.

(11 posts)I think she is trying to get in with Sanders and Warren but it's a mistake because many Clinton voters, myself included, will never vote for Sanders or Warren or Biden for that matter. They all used Hillary as their punching bag for their political careers. Hillary is such a strong woman, they all try to push her down but she keeps getting back up. That is what I admire so much about her. I hope she runs again. She will always get my vote.
