A year after his surprise election, 65 percent say Trump's achieved little (POLL)

Source: ABC

A year after his surprise election victory, President Donald Trump is underperforming expectations and lagging behind his predecessors, with the lowest job approval of any postwar president at this point in office, broad distrust across a range of issues and majority belief that he’s not delivering on his campaign promises.

-snip-

Two-thirds (65 percent) also now say he’s accomplished anywhere from “not much” to “little or nothing” as president -- up from 56 percent who said so after his first 100 days, and sharply contradicting the president’s own claims to be highly productive.

-snip-

Even with muted expectations when he took office, moreover, Trump’s falling short. At the time of his inauguration, for example, 61 percent expected him to do an excellent or good job handling the economy. Today just 44 percent say he’s doing so, a 17-point dropoff.

Similarly, 44 percent expected Trump to do well improving the health care system, while now just 26 percent say he’s delivering on this issue. He’s 13 points below expectations on dealing with terrorism -- 56 percent expected good work, 43 percent say he’s delivering it. And while just 40 percent expected Trump to do a good job handling race relations, again many fewer, 28 percent, say he’s actually doing so.

-snip-

Please read the entire article. Lots of interesting poll findings, almost all of them bad for Trump.

Record number of people going bankrupt due to his health care executive order, record number of dreamers and immigrants living in fear, record number of Puerto Ricans living without electricity or fresh water, record number of foreign allies distrustful of US support, record number of Americans suffering from anxiety/depression, record number of racial conflicts, etc. After the Cut and Kill Tax Bill is passed I am sure there will be more similar "accomplishments".

are these 26% who think he's "delivered" on his healthcare promises, and the 28% who think he's doing a "good job handling race relations".

OK, I know who the 28% are, they're the Nazis and White Supremacists. The 26% though, after Trump said we'd all have, "better and cheaper healthcare, immediately" are out of their fucking minds!

I guess it's not too difficult to extrapolate how many White Supremacists live in the good old U.S. of A. these days.

Jesus H. Christ, what is wrong with these people?

‘Who the hell are these 26% who think he's "delivered" on his healthcare promises, and the 28% who think he's doing a "good job handling race relations".’

The 26 percent who wanted to see the ACA undermined with more Americans unable to access affordable healthcare, and the 28 percent who support Trump’s racist agenda to divide Americans along racial lines.

as his 28%, but he promised "repeal and replace" on the healthcare, and again "cheap, better, and immediately". He hasn't done that, after numerous attempts. But 26% apparently think he has? He has tried to de-fund it with his presidential orders, but Congress can work around those ridiculous things.

Next time you go for a walk in a crowded area, just remember that 27 out of every 100 people you see are complete ass clowns. That's a sobering statistic. Or one that will make you want to get drunk, whichever floats your boat.

is the only thing he and his Rethuglican controlled Congress can claim, but they had to steal Obama's Supreme Court pick to do that!

Not a whole lot to be proud of in your first year, I'll tell you that. If they can't get Trump's "Cut, Cut, Cut" bill through before recess (and it's looking pretty "iffy" right now), they'll have had no legislation passed through his first year. Now that's "sad" for a party that controls all aspects of our government.

Granted, he hasn't (YET!!) launched some useless invasion of another country under false pretext in order to boost his company's stock (à la Cheney/Halliburton), and the Trump Tower Pyöngyang was probably not on the drawing board in any case.

But other than Gorsuch, which is more McConnell's doing than anything Trump had a hand in, his "accomplishments" have been more things the USA has had to be ashamed of more than anything to brag about.

This mythical ~40% base we keep seeing in every poll seems to actually only exist on the internet and in polls. You do see a few Nazis in the streets on TV, but that is it. I am starting to think his base really is just Russian trolls and the alt-right. The math just does not add up. Voter turn-out was around 50%, that makes around 26% of Americans voting for him. Yet, he always has 40% approval.

Ive wondered if we're just led to believe these people exist so we accept what this administration is doing. If you want to fool a population, that be a way to go about it.

I do know a lot of trumpsters though, and they're idiots.

he has rolled back environmental regulations and put "industry" people in charge at the EPA/Department of the Interior.

He put in place a Supreme Court judge (which the republicans stole from Obama) and that is going to having lasting impact.

I personally did not want him to achieve the things he talked about or promised (I knew he did not have an actual plan for health care), so a report about him not achieving is a good thing.
