Dems renew calls for gun control in wake of Texas church shooting

Source: The Hill

BY OLIVIA BEAVERS - 11/05/17 04:12 PM EST

Democrats are renewing their calls for gun reform after reports of a mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on Sunday.

Multiple people are dead after gunfire erupted at the church, which is not far outside San Antonio, according to reports.

Sens. Bob Casey Jr. (Pa.), Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Kamala Harris (Calif.) were among the Democrats who urged Congress to act in response to the latest deadly shooting.

"I’m thinking of and praying for all those impacted by the shooting in Texas. In addition to offering my prayers and thoughts I also believe Congress must take action on gun violence," Casey wrote in two separate tweets.

Because everyone is legally entitled to the ability to kill hundreds of people at a moderate range in a short period of time.

It's so sad when people actually take advantage of that god-given right!

If only there was some link in the chain we could break to stop the violence, but alas. Apparently, there isn't.

I'm running low on thoughts and prayers.

people kill people". This is equal to the BS arguments that the best way to fix the opioid crisis is to "just say no" and to avoid getting pregnant just "practice safe sex" (yeah, guys love wearing condoms and use them every single time they have sex) instead of taking birth control which is 99.9% effective. The GOP Christian mentality is full of shit.

Pray in one hind and crap in the other. I know which one will fill up fastest. Half ass gun control won't help. We need to go full Australia. No handguns , semi-auto or auto rifles unless you have a specific documented need for one. Anything else is a waste of time and energy.
