Romney: Roy Moore 'is unfit for office and should step aside'

Source: The Hill

BY JOSH DELK - 11/10/17 10:23 AM EST

Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney said Friday that Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore is "unfit for office and should step aside" following new allegations that he had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl when he was 32 and had other inappropriate sexual encounters with teenage women.

"Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore. Moore is unfit for office and should step aside," Romney said, backing the testimony of the Corfman, who was 14 at the time of the encounter.

Corfman told The Washington Post that in 1979 Moore drove her to his house in the woods and took off his clothes, touching her sexually and forcing her to do the same. The new report also included testimonies from three women, aged between 16 and 18 at the time, who described romantic advances by Moore.

Romney's comments come after more than a dozen GOP senators and the White House have urged Moore to step down if the allegations prove to be true. Moore has denied the allegations as an attack by the newspaper and Democrats ahead of the December election for the Senate seat.

The accusation IS evidence (and testimony).

Calling it "fake news" and "Clinton/Obama machine" is NOT evidence.

Moore of sexual impropriety, one a minor at the time, yet outlets such as fox news, and a good number of the congressional republicans are discarding the accusation of the victims. It is unbelievable.

Then again it was pretty inconceivable to me that someone could run as a racist, sexist, and bigot and now occupy the WH

His behavior as a judge should disqualify Moore.

What is wrong with these people?

Mitt is a Republican minus the lynch mob, which these days means not a Republican at all.
