Judge dismisses lawsuits over Clinton emails

Source: thehill

By Max Greenwood - 11/10/17 02:04 PM EST

A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a pair of lawsuits from conservative groups seeking to force the State Department to continue its search for Hillary Clinton's emails.

In a 26-page ruling, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg argued that the FBI had already "pursued every imaginable avenue to recover the missing emails" from Clinton's tenure as secretary of State, and that there was no evidence to suggest that additional search efforts would uncover more information.

"The Court of Appeals may have asked the Government to 'shak[e] the tree harder' for more emails, but it never suggested that the FBI must shake every tree in every forest, without knowing whether they are fruit trees," Boasberg wrote.

While Clinton's emails have long been the subject of numerous Freedom of Information Act requests, the pair of lawsuits filed by conservative watchdog groups Judicial Watch and Cause of Action Institute took a different legal route.......................................................

Basically, just a combination of lying and name-calling. That's the best the Party of Putin has to offer.

Judge dismisses lawsuits over Clinton's emails 1/11/2016

A federal judge has dismissed a pair of lawsuits aimed at forcing the government to act more aggressively to recover emails that Hillary Clinton kept on a private server while serving as secretary of state.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ruled Monday that the suits filed by two conservative organizations are moot because the State Department and the National Archives have done all they are legally required to do to obtain messages pertaining to her four-year tenure as America's top diplomat.

"Defendants have taken a number of significant corrective steps to recover Clinton's emails," Boasberg wrote in a 17-page order tossing out the suits
