In Alabama, Republican Voters Stand by Roy Moore

Source: MSN/Reuters

Republican voters in Alabama said they love Moore's penchant for political incorrectness — they like the same thing about President Donald Trump — and blame the media for Moore's troubles.

"Not until this race did the media go digging around on him," said Charles Bodenheimer, a 39-year-old garbage truck driver from Tallassee, Ala., as he sat on a park bench in Montgomery. "If (the allegations) are true, then why did (the women) wait so long to say anything?"

Bodenheimer, who voted for Sen. Luther Strange in the primary and runoff, said he was now backing Moore because Jones is "an absolutely immoral man," citing the Democrat's support for abortion rights.

Bodenheimer's friend, Derek Alexander, from Jacksonville, Ala., nodded in agreement and questioned why the report about Moore should matter — even if it were proven true.

It is amazing that Roy Moore is fundraising off of reports that he had sexual molested teenagers. I guess racism and perversion are the new normal in Trump's America.

If Sean Hannity said red was really blue, half of Alabama would believe it.

so conservatives want the truth? Sure, as long as it ignores actual reality. A piece of shit like Roy Moore doesn't happen overnight and he HAS HISTORY and apparently pretty well known. Goes to the foundation of christian conservatives in Alabama and their morals as well.....A 30+ yr old man "dating" teenagers in Alabama....... former prosecutor who worked in Alabama with GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore in the early 1980s told CNN on Saturday that it was “common knowledge” that Moore dated teenagers — and people thought it was “weird.”

“It was common knowledge that Roy dated high school girls. Everyone we knew thought it was weird,” former Etowah County deputy district attorney Teresa Jones told CNN national correspondent Alexander Marquardt. “We wondered why someone his age would hang out at high school football games and the mall. But you really wouldn’t say anything to someone like that.”

what happens when dozons of women step forward to say Moore was a "stalker"?? I don't expect this to happen as most don't to be persecuted by the hateful RIGHTwingers

On 5th Avenue and not lose any support.

Just as Roy Moore could commit sexual assault of young girls in public and people would still vote for him. Throw in a twisted interperatation of Christianity, and you get people so backwards it's funny and sad at the same time.

an immoral senator. pity, the gop faithful want to be entertained

We need to reach out to the marginal voters. Those who usually side with democrats, but somehow got tricked by our rotting pumpkin. Also get more non-voters and fix voter suppression, but if constrained to people who usually vote, we need to peel back the marginal voters that went the wrong way.

But the type being described in the OP seem to make up a higher-than-normal % (probably due to a mix of the utterly deplorable things they embrace).

Definitely need to get those uninterested voters out and maybe with Democrats now having a bigger presence in LOCAL races (thanks to orgs like Indivisible, etc), that will help when it comes to the national races.

Alone with Roy Moore. The media needs to ask this question to his supporters.
