GOP Senator: I'd 'Like To See' Trump Push Moore To Withdraw From Race

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published NOVEMBER 26, 2017 10:55 AM

Sen. John Thune (R-SD) on Sunday said he “would like to see” President Donald Trump push Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore to withdraw from the race amid numerous accusations of sexual misconduct, including assault.

“I would like to see the President, Chris, come out and support what many of us have said, and that is that Roy Moore needs to step aside, allow somebody else to be a write-in candidate, we can win that seat,” Thune said on “Fox News Sunday” to the show’s host Chris Wallace.

Trump, who has his own decades-long history of sexual misconduct allegations, doubled down on his support for Moore, and his criticism of Moore’s opponent, Democratic candidate Doug Jones, on Sunday.

Thune said that if Moore wins his race “there’s going to immediately be an ethics investigation which is going to be a cloud that he’ll be operating in.”

SCROTUS can't go negative on Moore because that further opens the door on his own history of sexual harassment (and he knows it - now he's even claiming the pussy-grabbing tape is fake). Thune, you and the other GOPers made Trump and Moore possible and now you own them. Too bad, so sad.

If we are to believe that, pigs do indeed fly!

The Donald's goose is cooked anyway. It is just a matter of time when the timer pops up.

A discarded, cracked used Coca-Cola bottle could win that seat if they run the Coke bottle as a Republican. Alabama's Republican primary voters managed to select the one candidate dirty enough and sleazy enough to make it possible for the seat to change to Democratic hands--something previously thought about as likely as Disney World moving to Pyongyang.

We MUST keep the heat on Moore right up to closing of the polls on the day of the election. Don't be fooled by people who say the Republicans lose either way. No, they don't. Any and all of Moore's sins will be forgiven and forgotten the second he is declared the winner, if indeed he is. This is NOT a lose-lose result for them. They might have thoughts about electing Moore prior to the election, but if he wins, they will welcome his with open arms, and he will stride into the Senate chamber as smug as the fox who just left the unguarded hen house with a full belly and no one to wipe the smirk off his face. The only way they lose is if Jones wins. The ONLY way. You think they're concerned about one of them trolling 14 year old girls? There are probably enough of men like that among the ranks of Republican Senators for them to have an informal interest group that meets once a week to show slides and videos.

No political gatherings for 10 days now. Could it be the pressure from the Press to answer to the allegations? Or is his Senate campaign out of money because of the 2 powerful ads supporting Doug Jones running on Alabama TV? Does Moore think hiding is the answer to winning while Jones campaigns all over the state?

Inquiring minds want to know, as does the Press.

If they spend what they had, more flows in from PACS and legally anonymous and unlimited sources.

If he's keeping low, it's because McTurtle and the money men figure Moore has done himself only damage by opening his mouth, and they figure his chances are only enhanced if he not only doesn't open it, but isn't even allowed to show it in public.

Or....it's because he's been drunk as a skunk for the last ten days, and they don't want to make matters worse by having him trip over his shoelaces while telling everyone what a fine upstanding conservative he is.
