Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) said in a recent interview that he is embarrassed and ashamed by the accusations of sexual misconduct that have been levied against him this month.
Im embarrassed and ashamed. Ive let a lot of people down and Im hoping I can make it up to them and gradually regain their trust, Franken told The Star-Tribune in a Sunday phone interview. Im looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow, Franken said.
The Minnesota lawmaker in the interview with the newspaper maintained that he does not recall incidents in which women said he touched their rear-ends during photo ops.
I dont remember these photographs, I dont, Franken told the paper. This is not something I would intentionally do.

Perfect! People who "trusted" him are as "embarrassed and ashamed" by the allegations -- NOT by his behavior -- as he is. But pending the results of the "investigation" that he himself has called for, there is nothing more to do but "get back to work" and start "rebuilding" that trust...

Hold your head up when you walk into the Senate and look them in the eye.
You're doing a good job!

(3,077 posts)I did read that on Twitter. And I was talking about his seat on the Judiciary committee. I know some were saying he should resign.
