Donald Trump attacks British PM Theresa May over her criticism of his far-right retweets

Donald Trump has fired a Twitter broadside at Theresa May, representing an extraordinary diplomatic spat between the allies, writing: “Theresa @theresamay, don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”

The US president’s message was a response to criticism from May’s spokesman over his retweeting of anti-Muslim videos posted by the deputy leader of a British far-right group.

However, the “@theresamay” that Trump targeted does not belong to Theresa May, the British prime minister, but a woman called Theresa Scrivener. Her homepage says she joined Twitter in February 2009 and that her tweets are protected.

Minutes later Trump deleted and reposted the tweet, this time with the correct handle: @Theresa_May.

But, in the end most average citizens from other countries cannot understand how we, as a country, cannot control our shameful idiot in office. He's scaring people across the world with his insane, petty, grammar school methods of leading a nation.

I was hoping his reply to her would be a little more normal i.e. crazy. He's afraid of her, Michelle and any other strong women.

Trump's re-tweets and jab at Theresa May caused a LOT of offence, here.

There was a even an emergency Parliamentary debate called on the subject, this morning. Momentum seems to be gathering for his state visit invitation to be formally rescinded, but May's in a difficult position.

Now that the UK is turning its back on the preferential trading terms of the EU, it desperately needs a good deal (any deal!) with the US. She can't really afford to piss off Trump.

May is between a rock and a hard place on this one because she needs the US/Trump more than Trump needs her.

and it's being implemented by a bunch of total incompetents with their heads up their own posteriors.

Also doesn't help that the main opposition party over here is also utterly clueless and useless on the issue.
