Pennsylvania Dems Call For GOP Lawmakers Resignation After Random Homophobic Tirade
Source: KYW
HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) A bizarre exchange Tuesday at a meeting of a Pennsylvania House committee has the state Democratic Party calling on a Republican member to resign. The exchange was captured on video.
Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler County) scolded Rep. Matt Bradford (D-Montgomery County) for touching his arm during Tuesdays meeting.
Im a heterosexual, Metcalfe said. I have a wife. I love my wife. I dont like men, as you might. Stop touching me all the time. Keep your hands to yourself. If you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it. I dont.
Bradford and his wife have four children. He told CBS3 Metcalfe was out of control with his comments.

Too long for the thread title, I guess.
DU has been dropping apostrophes in the title bar, which makes the shortened title less comprehensible.

(45,495 posts)That's not a missing apostrophe, that changes the entire meaning. They want him to resign, the op implies he resigned.

about "the gays" and their "icky sex" the more I think closet case.
BTW I have found real easy not to have sex with other men. Gay problem solved.

(8,854 posts)It seems as though he's trying to piggyback on all the recent sexual misconduct allegations and the "MeToo" movement to get his anti-gay agenda out there. He's sitting there acting as though he's the victim of sexual harrassment. Fucking little turd.

(1,123 posts)may be one of the most vile politicians not only in Pennsylvania, but possibly in the Country. Unfortunately, he represents an area that encompasses some northern suburbs of Pittsburgh that really embrace and advocate his beliefs - hardcore Dotard and tea bagger country.

(15,286 posts)Metcalfe from the gov't operations(?) committee that he chairs and the one that deals with civil rights legislation. Wolf's point is that someone as obviously bigoted as Metcalfe shouldn't be in charge. Metcalfe is currently sitting on an LBGT rights bill in his committee, iirc.
The state Ds are just kind of jumping on the outburst to see if they can somehow force Metcalfe out. I guess it's worth a shot. Metcalfe is an all-around odious human being, but he has a lot of company in Butler county.

(1,204 posts)I actually fully understand not liking to be touched constantly while in conversations. If that was the case, then it seems like something that could have been handled with a private comment to the person doing it.
I don't even know what to say about that immature homophobic comment. Is he in middle school still?
