In Florida, Mitt Romney defends Medicare message

Source: Politico

When pressed by reporters here, Romney couldn’t find the space between his own view and that of his running mate’s on Medicare.

“I’m sure there are places that my budget is different than, but we’re on the same page as I’ve said before. We want to get America on track to a balanced budget,” Romney said at a press conference on the tarmac at the Miami International Airport.

When pressed about differences between the two plans, Romney said: “There may be, we’ll take a look at the differences.”

Asked a third time, Romney was still unable to list a difference.

Here is the latest about Romney post-Ryan efforts to stump in Florida. Someone needs to explain to Romney that it is impossible to hug someone while also trying to keep them at arms length. Yet, Romney tries.

The Romney camp has had about a week to formulate an answer to an obvious question yet it seemed to catch Romney off guard. How can that be? This was a deer in the headlights moment for Romney. Was Reid causing such havoc that the Romney campaign is now caught flat-footed with soft-ball questions regarding Ryan? Regardless, it shows that Romney is not ready day one. His inept campaign was not expected, at least by me, but inept it is and in a major way.

And unquestionably made of clay.

That's just one of the reasons he's unfit for the job — personal shortcomings — and that's before you get to his foolish policies.

And now Ryan's foolish, radical policies.

I remember part of an episode of a British comedy, Are You Being Served,
where the staff were going to spend time working in the toy department.

One set of toys was called the Wibbly Wobblies. Please forgive my spelling.

I did a google search for wibbly wobbly toys, and found some wobbly jellies being advertised.

My refined google search was an image search for the following: wibbly wobbly jelly elephants

I hope it is permitted to post a link to a site with one of the images.

I hope I am not violating any copyright rules if I cut/paste the comment that's next to the image. I believe my cut/paste is covered by fair use rules because I am trying to use political satire regarding the Republicans.

Did it not occur to these people that they would have to either defend or reject Ryan's budget?. Or at least show where the differences are?

http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/13/13266514-romney-struggles-to-get-square-with-ryans-medicare-plan?lite

Stumping here on Monday, Mitt Romney told reporters he couldn’t think of how he differs from running mate Paul Ryan when it comes to their views on Medicare

“We haven’t gone through piece by piece and said, ‘Oh, here’s a place where there’s a difference,’” Romney said of his running mate’s plan. “But my plan for Medicare is very similar to his plan, which is ‘Do not change the program for current retirees or near-retirees but do not do what the president has done and that is to cut $700 billion out of the current program.”

Huh? Couldn't think how the plans differ? His plan is to "not do" things?

their whole schtick is that Obama stole 700 billion from Medicade while somehow not doing it (despite passing HCR), while saying they have the plan moving forward, but because they know the folks on it will string them up by their heels if they implement it, they say it will only apply to those under 55 ...

Sounds so typical of a repub. As the american people learn more and more of this man and his puppet, Ryan, the less and less they'll like or vote for him.

MittBot doesn't hold enough ROM to function at a presser, how's it going to handle a debate with a guy who can talk on almost any subject with some authority (and isn't afraid to answer "I don't know" when he doesn't actually know)?
