Sen. Al Franken disputed a report Wednesday that he will resign on Thursday. Minnesota Public Radio reported he will step down, citing a Democratic official who has spoken to the senator as well as key aides. But Franken tweeted shortly after that the story was "not accurate," and that "no final decision has been made." Franken, a Minnesota Democrat, faced calls to resign from fellow Democrats after multiple allegations of sexual harassment.

Senator Frankin,
Do not resign. You are such a powerful and strong public servant and you know that that means the right will attack you and try any means to bring you down. The women who speak against you are complaining about silly antics not intended for sexual gratification distinguishing your case from the likes of Moore and others. I am sure they suffered no loss and are not damaged or suffering in any way. Leanne has already been discredited by her own actions and everyone should know that the picture is a joke, bad one, but no touching is clear from the photo. All good democrats suffer the same treatment by the right wing hate machine. They have tried to destroy all democrats especially the great ones like you. Look how hateful they were to Hillary, Obama, Carter, Wellstone the list goes on.
If you resign democrats across the nation will be deflated and broken. We will wilt with sadness, fear and helplessness and disgust that democrats keep eating their own and not FIGHTING. Fight and never give in. Stand tall we all love you and will stand behind you!!!!!!!
He's being railroaded by the sick Pug/Putin plot that is taking over the country. Hell, we have a pussygrabber in chief that spews lies every time it opens its orange sphincter to fart out hate.
This must stop!

(6,976 posts)She's kind of salty at me because she thinks that I didn't do the "right thing" by telling him to resign.
She's the kind of person who thinks that it doesn't matter that thuglicans are lying, horrible people. Or, that Moore's a rapist. In fact, she really has nothing to say about tRumps or Moore's sexual assaults. She says, it only matters how we as Dems conduct ourselves. God Bless her

(205,664 posts)He is one of the few that takes the lead in speaking out for us - which is the reason that the RW wants him gone any way they can manage it. They already tried to avoid seating him when he obviously won his initial election - and this is just one more effort to keep him from doing what he does best - calling them on their BS.

(205,664 posts)They would try anything to shut him up, he's been nothing but a thorn in their side. Meanwhile, they've come out in support of electing a proven pedophile. Think I told you that I fell asleep on the couch in front of the TV on election night - after dental surgery - and woke up to see Trump and his creepy family standing there. I hoped it was just a nightmare and I was going to wake up - and I still am.

he could very well hang on until at least the tax bill nonsense is done, just to avoid making it any easier for republicans, or to continue to serve while a replacement is chosen.

The big blaring headline is at the very top of the https://www.mprnews.org page, and big-sized, along with the obligatory big picture of an anguished - looking Franken, with the photo caption:
The body of the story has been updated with the Franken tweet
But the title is still as above as of 615pm ET - which discourages people from supporting him, makes people think its all over and done.

Why can't the Democrats just allow the investigation to proceed, QUIETLY and legitimately and do thei rmost pressing job today.
