Cook Political Report shifts Tennessee Senate race to toss-up
Source: The Hill
The Cook Political Report, a top nonpartisan election handicapper, changed its election rating for Tennessees Senate race to a toss-up following former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen (D) launching his bid for the seat.
Bredesen, who served as the last Democratic governor of the state, was a top recruit for Democrats in the race to replace Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), a President Trump surrogate-turned-critic who wont seek reelection in 2018.
Bredesen won his first term as governor in 2002 and handily won reelection in 2006 with 69 percent of the vote, winning every county in Tennessee.
He officially jumped into the Senate race Thursday morning with an online video, arguing that he has the actual track record that it will take to start working across party lines, to fix the mess in Washington and bring common sense back to our government.

I feel the momentum building.

And then hypocritically complains you won't vote for their bills.

I also happen to think it's incumbent on our "leaders" to tell the truth. YMMV.

(6,974 posts)Tennessee will go from a toss-up to thuglican.
Some say Peyton Manning is being heavily courted to run for the Senate. He could actually win because from all I've heard about HIS allegedly sordid personal life--he'll fit right in as a Sitting US Senator. Roy Mall Rat Moore's going to the Senate next week. He doesn't have to be too intelligent, only popular.
Not sure he'll run because unlike other thuglicans, I feel that he'll want to HIDE as much of his "alleged" dirt under his rock.

(14,167 posts)Mayor, 2-term governor.... He's got name recognition, respect, and he's not part of the Grand Old Pedophile party.
I agree, this is a toss-up. We probably need to invest in this race, too.
