Reporters on Friday criticized Fox News for saying that Beverly Young Nelson, who accused Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexually assaulting her when she was 16, forged part of a yearbook inscription shes attributed to Moore.
During an interview with Good Morning Americas Tom Llamas that aired Friday, Nelson re-affirmed that Moore signed her yearbook when she was 15, before the alleged assault, and said that she added notes underneath his signature. The message was all Roy Moore, Llamas said in his report.
Reporting on the interview, Fox News said Nelson admitted that she forged part of the yearbook inscription, echoing a frequent attack from Moores camp against Nelson. The reports headline was later changed Roy Moore accuser admits she wrote part of yearbook inscription attributed to Alabama Senate candidate but the tweet remains.

(720 posts)I know the part about her lying is false, but what about others?

(3,051 posts)It looks like she may have been incorrect some key details. Some remain correct.
In fairness, it's been a while since the events do you should expect some level of inaccuracy.
The bit about her step son saying she lying is true. I saw the interview with my own eyes.
No idea about the old boyfriend.

(24,470 posts)there's a big difference. She may not have told him about it.

(4,490 posts)He has no real credibility though, despite what Moore and others will claim. The only facts he gave in that video are:
1. He has no loaylty to her because she isn't a blood relative.
2. He's a big Roy Moore supporter.
3. He never heard her talk about this incident.
So basically, he's trying to hurt his step-mom over political loyalty. That's the full extent of his reasoning given. He doesn't actually know anything about the allegation either way.

(4,533 posts)Moore wrote in black ink, the notes added are in blue. The Forgers Guild is going to kick this forger out for giving them a bad name.

If she filled in his last name and "DA", that's a horse of a different color. So to speak.

(4,533 posts)The handwriting for the Roy part looks identical to that on the graduation note of a different woman who Roy said he knew but later said he never met and is lying

(4,490 posts)It looks like his handwriting style to me, but just a different color. It doesn't make sense to me as a note, or a forgery
I feel like I'm really missing something.

(32,086 posts)"Gloria Allred" was trending on Twitter earlier today. I looked to see why, and it was nothing but "Gloria Allred and her client are liars. She forged her yearbook." I doubt they even noticed that the tweet was deleted, let alone figured out that it was complete bullshit.

(5,586 posts)The inscription in Nelsons 1977 school yearbook reads: To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, DA. 12-22-77 Olde Hickory House.
Olde Hickory House was the restaurant in Gadsden, Alabama, where Nelson worked when Moore, in his 30s at the time, allegedly assaulted her. The Senate candidate has denied it is his handwriting, and his campaign has repeatedly called for Nelson to release the yearbook so a handwriting expert can evaluate it.
Although the entire note was initially assumed to have been written by Moore, Nelson now acknowledges that the date and location annotations were hers.
He did sign it, she told ABC News. When interviewer Tom Llamasput put to her, And you made some notes underneath, Nelson replied: Yes.

(2,003 posts)It goes without saying when this yearbook entry is presented as evidence of a crime and it turns out later that parts of the entry were handwritten by the victim, there are problems.
She's now outed herself as a liar, vindicated Moore's claims that the yearbook entry was fake, and cast doubt on the rest of Moore's accusers.
