Koch Network To Launch Multimillion-Dollar Campaign To Try To Convince Americans To Support The New Tax Plan

The network, which has already spent more than $20 million on the issue this year, will spend millions more next year on ads and grassroots events, as polling shows the plan to still be unpopular.

The political network affiliated with billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch will launch a multimillion-dollar campaign to sell the just-passed GOP tax plan to voters ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

The network, which is funded by hundreds of wealthy GOP donors, has already spent more than $20 million this year on pushing the bill — a top priority, which it worked on closely with the Trump administration. Network officials say they will continue to make significant investments early in the new year for a "a full-scale nationwide education campaign" on the tax plan, which will permanently reduce taxes for corporations while cutting taxes for many individuals until 2025.

The campaign to sell the legislation, which polling shows is currently highly unpopular, will include TV, radio, and digital ads along with town hall events, seminars, workshops, phone banking, and door knocking.

A recent CNN poll found that opposition to the tax plan had grown by 10 points since November. Based on the poll, 55% of those surveyed oppose it and only 33% favor it, despite the investments from the Koch network and other Republican groups including 45Committee, American Action Network, and America First Policies to boost support for the bill.

Repubs fall in line like good soldiers. They accept whatever their politicians say or do. They'll accept the tax bill and continue to vote Repub. They always do. So it makes no sense to spend money to convince them, when all they need is Trump to tell them to accept it.

No campaign will convince the Dems to vote for Repubs, however.

I guess they're worried about 2018. But this tax bill will be a dim memory to most people. Koch Bros have money to burn, apparently. Esp since the tax bill.

If they can convince voters that the middle class tax hike is a good idea then there won't be pressure on Congress Critters to modify the tax code, simple as that.

bill is and how wonderful the GOP is for having brought this to the common people, all for the benefit of the little guy. And how zillions of jobs are being/will be created. And the idiot factor of the US will buy into it.

Everything they point to as a potential benefit for the middle class is just a fantasy, wishful thinking, pie in the sky, hot air based on speculation and assuming the gamble pays off with the rosiest of possibilities.

done what Hitler could not do-- taken over the U.S. And all without firing a shot, although millions will die if their evil plans come to fruition.

All it took was a few decades, billions of dollars, and extreme devotion to a radical extremist agenda such that they were willing to exploit weaknesses in our democratic system of governance. Now, having won, or so they think, they are in the process of taking the country apart.

It's up to us to stop them, starting in earnest in 2018.

big $$$$$ from the kooks and their ilk got us the GOPee Senate and House, plus of course the orange turd, so the kooks have considerable justification for believing that they can con lots of dumbassed 'Muricans into loving the GOPee bank heist.

As pointed out above, economic reality will hit, but it remains to be seen whether the public puts two and two together when down the line their Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid go away (if the kooks get their wish).

Those two can't die fast enough. Yeah, I said it. They are killing thousands of Americans with their shit policies.
