Planned Parenthood: Arkansas faces having 1 abortion clinic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Planned Parenthood says Arkansas' restrictions on how abortion pills are administered could leave the state with only one clinic where women can end their pregnancies.
Arkansas says doctors who provide abortion pills must hold a contract with another physician who has admitting privileges at a hospital and who would agree to handle complications. An appeals court had reversed an injunction against the law, saying the judge hadn't considered how many women would be "unduly burdened" by it.
In an appeal filed with the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday, Planned Parenthood says the law should be declared unconstitutional. It says it cannot find any Arkansas obstetrician willing to provide hospital credentials, effectively preventing medication abortions in the state. One Arkansas clinic provides surgical abortions.
Arkansas says the law protects women.
