A majority of Americans said they believe the numerous sexual misconduct allegations against President Trump, according to a new CNN poll.
Sixty-one percent of those polled said they believed the allegations are "mostly true," while only 32 percent of those polled said they believed the allegations are "mostly not true." Sixty-three percent of the people polled said Congress should look into the claims against the president, while 36 percent said there should not be an investigation.
Respondents were split over whether the president should resign over the allegations. Fifty-percent said Trump should step down, while 48 percent said he should stay in office. The harassment allegations against Trump first emerged during the 2016 campaign, but have attracted renewed scrutiny amid a wave of sexual misconduct allegations against men in politics, entertainment and the media.
Three of the women who accused Trump of sexual misconduct earlier this month called on Congress to investigate the accusations against the president. Several Democrats have since called for the president's resignation.
