Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon and President Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski have received requests to testify before the House Intelligence Committee on the Russia probe early next year, according to Bloomberg News.
The request to appear before the panel is reportedly for early January. The panel did not issue subpoenas. The report comes as tensions have flared between House Republicans and Democrats over the direction of the investigation.
Democrats on the committee have expressed concerns Republicans are looking to conclude the investigation prematurely.

(14,755 posts)under voluntary appearances, they aren't compelled to appear, or answer any particular questions, or stay for the full hearing. They are free to get up and leave whenever they wish.
But whatever they say still has to be truthful. So they can say nothing at all or not answer the question in any meaningful way, but what they do say still has to be the truth.
It's like lying to a cop when they ask you a question in the line of duty. You don't have to answer it, but you can't lie.
