Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says he wants to give the Senate Intelligence Committee as much time as possible to finish its Russia investigation and stressed it must remain bipartisan.
Asked if he was worried about the probe stretching into the heart of next years campaign season, McConnell said, Id like to see them wrap it up when they finish.
I trust Sen. Burr and Sen. Warner to do our part, he said referring to Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Mark Warner (D-Va.), the chairman and vice-chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Its not up to me to say when its over, its up to them to say when its over, he said. What I hope is that in the end we have a bipartisan report. If its purely partisan, I dont think anyone will give it any credibility. I hope those guys can stay together and tell us what happened and what we need to do to prevent it from happening again, he added.

McConnell encourages Graham, Cassidy to continue ObamaCare repeal push
BY NATHANIEL WEIXEL - 12/22/17 11:39 AM EST
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday encouraged two key senators to continue working on legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
McConnell encouraged Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.) to keep working to cobble together enough votes to pass their ObamaCare repeal legislation.
I wish them well, McConnell said and added that if the senators can get the votes next year, hed encourage the Senate to vote on the bill. McConnells comments mark a slight shift tone, as they come a day after he said that the Senate will likely be moving on from ObamaCare repeal next year.
"Well, we obviously were unable to completely repeal and replace with a 52-48 Senate," McConnell told NPR on Thursday. "We'll have to take a look at what that looks like with a 51-49 Senate. But I think we'll probably move on to other issues."

He's laying the groundwork to dismiss the report.
