Gunman kills 11 in attacks on Coptic church, Christian-owned shop in Egypt

Source: Reuters

CAIRO (Reuters) - A gunman killed at least 11 people on Friday in attacks on a Coptic Orthodox church and a Christian-owned shop near Cairo before he was wounded and arrested, the Egyptian interior ministry and church officials said.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks, in a statement carried out by its Amaq news agency, though it provided no evidence for the claim.

After saying "X Copts killed by Islamists" it had to go into an equally long excursus on how the same group killed even more Muslims in the north of Sinai.

I inferred not so much that "this group is bad" but "please don't think they hold any animus against Xians, because that might make it religious."

The OP is not required to post that story or any other story. Your observation about Muslims being the #1 victim is correct. I don't understand why you imply that the OP should post links to other stories. If you want other stories linked, go for it. Post them.

It seems like any excuse to defame Muslims is a good excuse for some. The larger picture, of course, suggests something entirely different.
