Anti-government demonstrations that began in Iran on Thursday have now spread to several major cities, and President Donald Trump has now officially chimed in on the protests via his favorite medium, Twitter.

In a Friday night Tweet, Trump voiced his support for the protesters saying they have the “right to express themselves”:

People there took to the streets to express anger at the government over high prices, and vented their fury against President Hassan Rouhani. According to the AP, 52 people were arrested for chanting what the government considered harsh slogans.

The protests spread to other cities in the northeast part of the country, and some developed into broader anti-government demonstrations, calling for the release of political prisoners and an end to police beatings.

this tweet might mean something. If the tweet had Barak Obama's name at the top, it might make someone stand up and pay attention.
But this is Smaug chastising someone for not giving to charity.

Supports Iranian citizens right to protest, but in America protestors who are utilizing their freedom to address grievances as spelled out in the the US constitution are just no good lazy bums. Thanks Fox News!

in the internal affairs of another country. I don't recall Iran meddling in U.S. affairs over BLM protests or the authoritarian handling of the take-a-knee NFL protests. And I think most of the civilized world is horrified by the deadly U.S. gun culture that never gets fixed, but I don't recall them taking cheap shots trying to make political hay or start a war over it. And much, much more...

Many reports of peaceful protests by American citizens fed up with Trump regime’s corruption & its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund his super-rich cronies. American govt should respect their people’s rights, including right to express themselves. The world is watching! #AmericanProtests

Iranian protestors should be comforted knowing they share solidarity with Americans who understand exactly how they are suffering.

Hey Trump, check what happened two days ago in Wichita,Ks and you might get a better understanding of taking a knee. The flag doesn't make any difference one way or the other you fucking idiot!
