ICE Director Calls For Arrest Of 'Sanctuary' City And State Officials

The acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday advocated for the arrest of local and state government officials who dont cooperate with federal immigration agents.
This is a victimization of the American community, Thomas Homan told Fox News Neil Cavuto. This isnt the America I grew up in. Weve got to take these sanctuary cities on. Weve got to take them to court, and weve got to start charging some of these politicians with crimes.
While theres no strict legal definition a sanctuary city or state, Homan, who President Donald Trump has nominated to serve as ICEs formal director, was responding to Californias SB54, which went into effect on Jan. 1.
The law, like many on the local level nationwide, limits police officers ability to detain suspected undocumented immigrants on federal agents behalf. The bills author, Senate Leader Kevin de Leon, said it would put a large kink in Trumps perverse and inhuman deportation machine.

It's not on the Sanctuary Cities to solve the problem. It's on the Congress. Want to arrest people? Arrest Congress. They are the ones not fixing the issue, and even making it worse.

(1,178 posts)concerned about illegal immigration, why don't they arrest the employers for hiring them?
Put a few of those guys in jail. That will get their attention.
They could start with the CEO of Cloverhill Bakery in Illinois. The company was raided last
November. 800 workers were detained. Do you honestly believe management knew
nothing of their employees status?

California, New York -- a substantial segment of the national economy and tax base. Huge. It'd be game over.

The sanctuary cities just won a major victory over Trump in Federal court and the new ruling holds that Trump policy is unconstitutional.
