Key House conservatives say it's time for Sessions to go

Source: The Hill

BY JULIA MANCHESTER - 01/04/18 10:05 AM EST

Conservative Republican Reps. Mark Meadows (N.C.) and Jim Jordan (Ohio) are calling on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to step down, citing recent leaks from the Justice Department and FBI.

"If Sessions can't address this issue immediately, then we have one final question needing an answer: When is it time for a new attorney general?" the two GOP lawmakers asked in an op-ed for The Washington Examiner.

"Sadly, it seems the answer is now," they continued. "It would appear he has no control at all of the premier law enforcement agency in the world."

The lawmakers went on to cite a New York Times story, published last week, that referenced intelligence community sources as saying a meeting between former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos and an Australian diplomat kickstarted special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Or what was leaked?

I imagine people in the justice department are getting frustrated: "JFC! What does it take before you impeach already!?"

Our system is creaking and groaning from assaults like this. Let’s hope it’s strong enough to survive this unprecedented test.

Sessions needs to go because the DOJ has reasonable cause to investigate the Trump administration?

sessions also was at the meeting whr Russian "help" was discussed and he didn't report it to the fbi

so I don't understand why he hasn't been arrested by now

same with ryan....he is on tape covering up info about repubs taking Russian money...so that is obstruction too

we are in a bad spot for sure but doesn't seem to me that letting criminals stay in charge is the answer

They can't stand that revelations and leaks from the investigations are exposing Repub lies and Trumpster criminality.

These rightwing extremists with their rightwing media have convinced the brainwashed base that Trump is an innocent victim rightly upset about Sessions not protecting him and that anti-Trump, pro Obama/Clinton officials in DOJ and FBI are corrupt and must be purged.

That'll fire Mueller, and to criminalize with trump justice Hillary and President Obama, and others that speak the truth and oppose him. Congress could stop this cold by protecting Mueller , or do nothing to help him obstruct the investigation. Wouldn't that make them co-conspirators?
