A nomination would face strong resistance from Democrats over his weakening of environmental protections.

Scott Pruitt, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, has told friends and associates that hes interested in becoming attorney general, according to three people familiar with the internal discussions.
With rumors swirling that Jeff Sessions could depart the administration and two members of the House Freedom Caucus calling on the former Alabama senator to resign, Pruitt is quietly positioning himself as a possible candidate for the job. Pruitt is very interested, a person close to him said. He has expressed that on a number of occasions.
Its unclear whether Pruitt would be on the shortlist for the position, but people close to the president said Trump has grown to like him. Pruitt has emerged as the face of Trumps deregulatory agenda, taking steps to overturn former President Barack Obamas climate change regulations. He was also a leading advocate for pulling out of the Paris agreement on climate change.
Pruitt has developed a reputation in Washington as one of the most ambitious members of Trumps Cabinet, and people close to him have long suspected that he harbors bigger aspirations in politics, perhaps as governor or senator. Two people close to him also said he has toyed with the possibility of running for president someday.

(23,155 posts)But because of Mcturtles thieving new rules there are no filibusters for any nominations, so we are fucked. Repugs will never admit this is why this is being done, so there will be no one in their party who will stop it, I fear.
This is just a ploy to fire Mueller, nothing else. I truly hate these Russian/Repugs.

(23,155 posts)After the heinous tax bill, it was proven there are no sane repugs, just various shades of Russian/Repug traitors. Why do you think they wouldn't vote for him for SG, so Mueller can be fired?

(3,502 posts)My limited exposure this guy leads me to believe he has little understanding of the law. I wouldn't hire this guy to represent me at a dog catcher's hearing; district justices have more sense of the law than this guy.

(3,502 posts)Doesn't trust anyone. He's spent lots of money creating a safe room and looking for bugs in his new office. Talks more with industry folks than his own department people. Clearly a deranged person. But I insist he doesn't know the law from a hole in the wall. May take time but I'd bet nearly anything he tries to do will get dismissed in court.

Oh, and you can also be certain that no matter how many of us they destroy or kill, no matter how many trump voters they destroy or kill, 35% of us will still vote for them.
