Challengers of PA Voter Photo ID Law File Appeal

Source: AP

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Challengers to Pennsylvania's tough new law requiring voters to show photo identification are appealing a judge's decision to let it take effect in the Nov. 6 presidential election.

The lawyers for the people and rights groups suing filed the appeal Thursday afternoon. The paperwork was filed in the lower Commonwealth Court. The Supreme Court says it hasn't received it.

But the lawyers are asking the high court for a speedy review, including oral arguments to be scheduled during the court's session in Philadelphia the week of Sept. 10.

The law is the subject of a furious debate over voting rights.

The pigs with all the money will pushing on the PA Supremes to strike down the appeal.

Corporate money rule, is more important than any lesser than having the right to vote.

and I'm confused by this. Eishenhower sent federal troops into the south to enforce desegregation. Why isn't Eric holder doing anything to enforce free elections in Pa.???

State courts have to address the matter, brought to their attention by complaints of PA voters, and if denied, can go to Federal court. That's the way the system is set up.
ACLU etc is on it.

tho it wouldn't hurt. I do rely on Federal authorities. Less inclined to think PA state courts will do much BUT PA higher court judges may be interested in addressing/preserving their State's former reputation as sound. Its the 'Keystone' state, after all.

The PA Supremes are split pretty evenly politically. Now we get to see if there is any integrity among them.
God only knows, PA has been taking a beating. It's demoralizing to someone who has lived all his life here and loves it.
